HIs teaching philosophy is that design is an essential building block for existence. It is often taken for granted by the public – like speaking or walking. We learn how to speak and walk and an early age, and then it becomes second nature to us as we grow. The language of design must be taught at an early age so it can do the same – but it must be refined as a student matures. This is important to him because undergraduate students of design must continue to push not only the boundaries of the discipline but also how the discipline is applied and how it is presented to non-designers.  They must be made aware that design does not exist in a vacuum. They must take chances, experiment and given the room to do so.
